About the Foundation
The Eastman Charitable Foundation was established in 2005. The mission of this non-profit
organization is to promote environmental stewardship, education and green recreation through
grants and scholarships within Grantham, Enfield and Springfield. Funds are raised through
corporate and private donations to enable the Foundation to award a wide variety of
community-oriented grants. The annual scholarship program is a component of the
Foundation’s educational mission.
Scholarship Awards
Scholarship awards are in the amount of $2,000. Award decisions are made by the ECF Scholarship Committee, endorsed by the ECF Trustees and are final.
Who Should Apply
Graduating high school seniors who will be attending an accredited 2-year technical school or community college, or a 4-year college/university after graduation AND who are either (1) living full-time in Grantham, Enfield, Springfield or (2) living full-time or part-time in the Eastman Community.
Candidate Criteria:
- Demonstrate an active interest in environmental responsibility through course work
and/or volunteering in the community - Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence
- Demonstrate leadership ability
- Plan to study in the fields of environmental science, sustainability, environmental
health, climate change, environmental policy or law, or a related field in a post-
secondary school setting
When to Apply
2026 applications can be downloaded on the ECF website. ECF will begin accepting applications
on Monday, January 19, 2026. Applications will be accepted through Sunday, April 26, 2026.
